Globuc’s upcoming Go Net Zero Energy conference will take place in Brussels on 20-22 September.

The event will feature an agenda highlighting the real-world initiatives and projects which aim to help the energy industry achieve its net-zero targets.

Jonathan Robinson, Global Power & Energy Research Director at Frost & Sullivan, will speak at the conference.

He will discuss the effects of the surge in oil and gas prices in 2022, which have resulted in bumper revenues for producers. This surge has certainly encouraged producers to greenlight new fossil-based projects, reaffirming that the era of fossil-based energy is not over.

However, this has not been at the expense of renewable energy, as 2022 is set to be a record year for new installations. With the passage of supportive clean energy legislation in the US, security of supply concerns in Europe, and higher government targets in India and China, the world is entering a clean energy race with countries vying to decarbonise whilst making their energy systems resilient and secure.

Most oil and gas producers recognise that clean energy can now be a profitable part of their business, and the revenues from 2022 should enable them to step up their focus. E-mobility, hydrogen, renewable energy, CCUS, and grids and storage offer significant growth opportunities as the energy transition gains pace.
