The Thunder Series enhances and protects enterprises’ applications while delivering exceptional performance in software and hardware appliances
SANTA CLARA, Calif. — July 6, 2017 — Based on its recent analysis of the application delivery controllers (ADCs) market, Frost & Sullivan recognizes A10 Networks with the 2016 Latin America Frost & Sullivan Award for Enabling Technology Leadership. A10 Networks pioneered a new generation of application networking technologies, presenting enterprises, service providers, and government entities with secure data center applications. Its flagship Thunder Series is built upon the powerful A10 Advanced Core Operating System (ACOS®) platform and comprises physical, virtual, Bare Metal, hybrid, and cloud form factors. Its deployment flexibility eliminates the need to adjust enterprises’ networking infrastructure before installation.
A10 Networks ensures that applications are flexible, agile, and secure, especially because the company needs to meet software-defined, open-source cloud-networking demands. The Thunder ADC features 10 open application-programming interfaces (APIs) that work with any infrastructure—allowing ACOS® to save space and power without compromising performance. Furthermore, it supports IPv4 to IPv6 transitions, which makes it ideal for service providers and enterprise data centers.
“A10 Networks’ next-generation ADC product line offers application availability, application acceleration, and security for industry-leading delivery and server load balancing,” said Frost & Sullivan Industry Analyst Carina Gonçalves. “The virtualized ADC cloud deployment makes infrastructure-as-as-service available to enterprises, easing integration of software-defined networks, overlay networking, cloud management systems, network virtualization with vThunder virtual appliances, and changes to a network without disrupting the hardware.”
As Thunder ADC optimizes application performance through application acceleration, it enables a faster network experience while lowering capital and operational expenditures. Thunder ADC includes secure socket layer (SSL) offload as another popular acceleration lift technique. Its application acceleration features also facilitate full transparency and deep packet inspection to solve complex problems associated with server traffic regulation. Finally, the aGalaxy centralized management system controls any A10 Thunder device, aiding centralized distribution of custom scripting and integration with third-party systems.
A10 Networks further enhances data center security with the Thunder ADC line based on the DNS application and ICSA-certified Web application firewalls. The firewall load balancing capability supports existing security products to scale effortlessly as well. Distributed denial of service (DDoS) protection is a standard inclusion in all Thunder ADC products, and the field-programmable gate array flexible traffic acceleration (FPGA FTA) protects application servers from high attack volumes. Additionally, the A10 Threat Intelligence Service helps prevent automated corporate or large-scale data breaches.
“A10 Network’s ADC adopts an ‘everything included’ approach to pricing, wherein all product features incorporate in each version of the ADC at no extra charge. Despite the price sensitivity in Latin America, A10 Networks’ flexibility and comprehensive product portfolio allowed it to grow at 60% year-over-year,” noted Gonçalves. “A10 Networks specifically targets Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Argentina, Chile, and Peru, and has developed a partner ecosystem in other countries.”
In a strategic move, A10 Networks acquired Appcito, Inc. in 2016, a provider of a versatile software-as-a-service-based, multi-cloud ADC solution, which positioned the former as a comprehensive secure application services leader. After this acquisition, A10 Networks launched the Lightning ADS, providing a complete solution for application traffic management, security, and analytics in public, private, and hybrid clouds.
For its significant success in developing a robust, efficient, and flexible ADC for the Latin American market, A10 richly deserves the 2016 Frost & Sullivan Award for Enabling Technology Leadership.
Each year, Frost & Sullivan presents this award to a company that develops a pioneering technology that not only enhances current products but also aids the development of newer products and applications. The award recognizes the high market acceptance potential of the recipient’s technology.
Frost & Sullivan Best Practices awards recognize companies in a variety of regional and global markets for demonstrating outstanding achievement and superior performance in areas such as leadership, technological innovation, customer service, and strategic product development. Industry analysts compare market participants and measure performance through in-depth interviews, analysis, and extensive secondary research to identify best practices in the industry.
